Rear Collision Warning

What is Rear Collision Warning?

To clarify, rear collision warning (RCW) alerts the driver of impending rear-end accidents. Particularly, radar sensors track the movements of the vehicle behind you. It monitors the speed and position of the vehicle and warns the driver when the following distance narrows. Currently, rear collisions are among the most common types of accidents behind front end collisions, especially within urban settings and during rush hour on congested highways. In conjunction with other ADAS components, the driver is able to be prepared and sometimes mitigate an impending accident, especially when alerted by RCW. In any case, you have advantage over traditional vehicles without ADAS. Now, you have better visibility and control while also being vigilant of your surroundings.

While rear collision warnings act as passive systems, rear collision avoidance have advantages as well.
